THE COMPLEX ART OF PLANNING

We used an illustrated process to analyse the latent geometry of the quarries. We searched for the genius loci; using the lines of force drawn by the quarries and by balancing shape, colour and proportion, we identified the latent geometry of our design.

You can screw up your eyes and look for the pools of colour where the locations’ lines of force meet, creating an expressive language and art that helps us plan and create our piece of architecture.

This analysis led to a geometry that was guided by the location, providing us with a tapestry onto which we could place the filled and empty spaces that comprised our design. The balance between EXTERNAL FEELING and INTERNAL LOGIC.
