SELECTION OF PHOTOS OF THE FOUR MODELS
WORKING MODELS
Four working models were made during the final-year project.
The first was an abstract model made to a scale of 1/2000, which aimed to establish the geometry of the location. The materials used were cardboard, acetates, drawings and coloured threads. The first three photos show this model.
Two models to a scale of 1/1000 were subsequently made. This time the models dealt with shape. The materials used were acetates and grey cardboard for the land and white cardboard for the design. This model can be seen in photos 4 to 6.
Lastly, a model to the scale of 1/400 was made, which is the same scale used in the design plans on the presentation panels. The materials used were grey cardboard for the land and white cardboard for the design. The model can be taken apart, enabling us to see how the design interacts with the location on different levels. This is shown in the final four photos.
All of these are WORKING MODELS to help with the planning process and the subsequent development of the design.
